Description:
Abstract:
The Geoanalytical Information Layer for Oregon (GILO) is a spatial database of DOGAMI's geochemical (whole rock and trace elements) and geochronological data. For this release, the database contains geochemical information for 1141 samples collected during regional geologic mapping projects in central and eastern Oregon. This release of GILO - Release 1 is the first of several planned updates that will eventually provide statewide coverage of our geochemical and geochronological information. The Geoanalytical Information Layer for Oregon is published, as is.
Purpose:
The purpose of the Geoanalytical Information Layer for Oregon (GILO) is to assemble DOGAMI's geochemical and geochronological data for rocks in Oregon. Samples are geospatially located, provided with attribute information, and cross referenced to DOGAMI's published maps.
Supplemental Information:
Samples were collected during mapping of quadrangles at 1:24,000 scale. Sources for 1:100,000-scale geologic attributes are from the following maps released by the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries (RMS-1, GMS-77, and GMS-78) and the U. S. Geological Survey (I-2683). Sources for 1:24,000-scale geologic attributes are from maps published by the Oregon Department of Geology and Mineral Industries.
